John Axelrod

John Axelrod became a much loved conductor for the Milanese audience following his appearance at La Scala for Leonard Bernstein’s Candide. A pupil of the great maestro Bernstein and a highly cultured and open gentleman, Axelrod participated with enthusiasm in the Mediolanum Channel special where he spoke about the opera, defining it as a “mirror of Bernstein”.
