Lorenzo Arruga

The contributions to the life of the Association made by Lorenzo Arruga and his wife Franca Cella are so many that it would be simply meaningless to present a list, which would also be ill-suited to the intellectual and writing brilliance of the great critic. We thus limit ourselves to a brief extract from his speech on Beethoven’s Fidelio, which took place in March 2003 with Sergio Sablich as the conductor. Arruga, who loves to amaze, defines Fidelio as an “opera buffa”, a comic opera.
