Alvin Ailey

The great American choreographer has been an Amici della Scala guest on two occasions. One was in 1988, in conversation with Mario Pasi. The previous year he was the focus of a symposium curated by Vittoria Ottolenghi, in which he discussed his collaboration with La Scala for the choreography for the La Scala ballet. We have an audio track from that encounter: in this extract, Ailey speaks about his artistic journey as well as his “human” one.
