Anna Girardi and the ushers

On the 19th of September 2017, at Amici della Scala, Franco Pulcini conversed with Anna Girardi, author of the book Guida alla visione di Der Ring des Nibelungen di Guy Cassiers al Teatro alla Scala. (“Guy Cassiers’ Der Ring des Nibelungen at La Scala: A guide to its viewing”.) The book analyses Wagner’s Ring, staged at La Scala from the 2010 to 2013 seasons, with the conducting of Daniel Barenboim. In the picture, we see Anna Girardi with “colleagues” Pulcini and Foletto. However, Anna Girardi is not only a musicologist: in fact, before undertaking this path, she was one of the ushers of the Opera House. Amici della Scala has always felt a deep fondness and gratitude for these unique collaborators; discreet, kind and smiling, and without whom La Scala would not be what it is.
