Edoardo Sanguineti

January 9th 1986: the symposium organised on A King Listens, an opera by Luciano Berio based on Italo Calvino’s text, saw the participation of its great composer. Yet of particular relevance was also the participation in the debate of Edoardo Sanguineti, intellectual and poet amongst the most important of the 20th century. In the audio is a fragment of his speech, in which he poses a question to Luciano Berio. Sanguineti was an Amici della Scala guest also in 2000, when he was the protagonist, with Gianni Vattimo, of a conversation part of the series The philosopher and the poet, curated by Flavio Ermini and Ida Travi. In the photograph, we see him in the company of Antonio Porta. The “ironic” poem is dedicated to Claudio Magris, whereas in the other image is a signed note from Sanguineti.
