Emma Dante, Jonas Kaufmann, Richard Peduzzi

For the staging of Bizet’s Carmen, which opened the 2009-2010 season under the direction of Daniel Barenboim, three great artists were involved. All three also participated in the Mediolanum Channel special dedicated to the opera. These were director and costume designer Emma Dante (who spoke about her “mediterranean” setting of the opera), tenor Jonas Kaufmann (who highlighted the complexity of the character), and scenographer Richard Peduzzi (who recounted how the set design came to be).
