Francesco Siciliani

Francesco Siciliani represents one of the most important figures of classical music from the second half of the 20th century. As La Scala’s artistic director and musical organiser, he nurtured the greatest living artists. As a musicologist, he gave forgotten masterpieces back to the world. For these reasons and for his indelible contribution to La Scala Opera House, Amici della Scala appointed him Honorary Member in 1979: the first in a long series! In the images is Anna Crespi’s letter to him and Siciliani’s letter of thanks.
