Giorgio Battistelli

Giorgio Battistelli is amongst the most performed Italian composers in the world. In 2015, after a long gestation, La Scala Opera House staged Battistelli’s CO2 on the occasion of the EXPO. In this opera, the composer addresses great themes of ecology and climate change. Here is an extract of his participation in Prima delle Prime, speaking about the reasons that led him to write this opera, which was staged with the direction of Robert Carsen.
