Jurij Naghibin

On the 28th of February 1990, another great protagonist of 20th century literature was a guest at Amici della Scala: Jurij Naghibin, for the presentation of his book Contrappunto, published by Rizzoli. Correspondent from the front-line, during World War II, for the newspaper “Trud” (“The man from the front”, 1943; “The big heart”, 1944), Naghibin defined his identity as a writer interested in the life of ordinary people in a series of novels with a simple narrative style, of lyrical inspiration, and on which he often based his films. Giancarlo Vigorelli also spoke, and was the protagonist on other evenings (his is the note in the guestbook, left on the occasion of another important encounter: the one with Julian Green).
