Niccolò Castiglioni

A figure of great importance in the panorama of Italian music, pianist, composer and professor Niccolò Castiglioni (teacher, amongst the others, of Carlo Galante and Giampaolo Testoni) was a poetic and reserved personality, a man that did not follow any trend. His wonderful and intense letters reveal a resolute character and, most of all, an artistic soul (“sorry for the simplicity of these lines of mine”), whose deeply sensitive nature was expressed in the operas. In 1998 a presentation was held of the book Gli anniversari musicali del 1997. Niccolò Castiglioni. L’ossigeno lieto di Niccolò. (“The 1997 anniversaries. Niccolò Castiglioni. The joyful oxygen of Niccolò”.
