Orphée
In its four decades of activity, Amici della Scala has followed the Opera House’s programme at every stage. The events dedicated to the lesser staged operas, or even those premiering for the very first time, have been particularly appreciated by the Prima delle prime audience. It is the case for Gluck’s Orphée et Euridice, premiering at La Scala on January 2018 conducted by Michele Mariotti, and with the direction of Hofesh Shechter and John Fulljames. During the conference with videos and audios “L’opera italiana tra Vienna e Parigi” (“The Italian opera between Vienna and Paris”), Orphée et Euridice was discussed by Raffaele Mellace, professor of Musicology and History of Music at the University of Genoa.
