Pier Luigi Pizzi

A long standing friend of the Association, great scenographer, costume designer and director, Pier Luigi Pizzi was the protagonist of the Mediolanum Channel special on The Merry Widow, for which he created the set design and that he also directed. Here we see him on two occasions: as he works with the the scenographers in the Ansaldo Workshops and as he explains his interpretation of the opera to the audience. In 1999, Vittoria Crespi Morbio dedicated an exhibition to him entitled Pier Luigi Pizzi alla Scala 1957-1999, with an accompanying catalogue which is now part of the rich series of volumes of the Association.
