Stéphane Lissner

During his long management of La Scala (2005-2015) as General Manager and Artistic Director, Stéphane Lissner has always demonstrated his great friendship with the Association. On the occasion of the 2009 presentation, in the La Scala foyer, of the monographs dedicated by Amici della Scala to Chagall, Gontčarova, Sciltian and Samaritani, he declared: “I take the opportunity of this event to wholeheartedly thank Amici della Scala, which in a rather difficult moment is really helping our work. During this evening, the importance of what the Association is doing for us will be even more evident. Books are the memory of this Opera House, which is a heritage that has to be defended, without ever forgetting the special role that some countries, for their history, have in the world of opera and music”. In 2012 Lissner inaugurated the new via dei Giardini offices (picture), an event that was attended also by the city mayor Giuliano Pisapia. During the event, Lissner also thanked Amici della Scala for the work done with Prima delle Prime (here is a video, and a very warm note from 2010).
