The Royal Palace of Milan

On the 18th of October 2001, Amici della Scala inaugurated their new headquarters located in the Royal Palace of Milan. The room was given by the council of Milan as recognition of the Association’s contribution towards the city culture. On the occasion the new Amici della Scala Honorary Members were also celebrated. These included the mayor of Milan Gabriele Albertini, composer Luciano Berio, pianist Maurizio Pollini and singer Giulietta Simionato. The city’s Councillor for Culture Salvatore Carrubba also participated in the event. Our new office hosted a series of extraordinary events, presentations, symposiums, exhibitions and encounters with members and friends.
