Giorgio Taborelli

Intellectual, editor, a friend of music, as well as an irreplaceable Amici della Scala collaborator and advisor, Giorgio Taborelli was not fond of being photographed: here he is, in a rare shot with the General Manager Carlo Maria Badini. Taborelli was not a socialite either, and yet without him Amici della Scala could not have been what they were. For so many years, “Prima delle Prime”, the conferences, the events and the publications had the “signature” of Giorgio Taborelli. It is emotional to listen to – after Sergio Sablich’s presentation – the beginning of Taborelli’s speech on the subject of the society contemporaneous to the events narrated in Verdi’s Rigoletto. In the images is a letter from his wife, following his death.
